Conversation with god…

I opened my eyes, the brightness was hurting. Slowly my eyes adjusted and I became aware of my surroundings. There was plush greenery all around. The fountain of Four Rivers was the centre of attraction. All around were well pruned, trimmed gardens. Sunflowers, lilies, roses all swayed with the breeze and the Honeysuckles threw their scent around. The birds were chirping, the frogs were croaking and the crickets created a rackety sound. It was so serene, beautiful and musical that my heart was filled with joy. Just being over there gave me a feeling that life has much more in store for us besides daily fights, jealousies and worries. Can you guess the place I am talking about?? HEAVEN, Ofcourse. Where else do we get time to sit and once reflect about the wonders that GOD has created. Speaking about GOD, did I mention the conversation I had with him while I was there? Well, yes lucky me but it was not on an intellectual basis but just informally. Without much ado, I’ll tell you what passed between us. The conversation went on such-
Me-( In jeans and trousers, seeing a man dressed in white overalls and tending to some plant. He has a long beard hanging down till his waist)..Excuse me, Sir. Would you please guide as to where should I go to meet GOD. (I was new to heaven you see).
[The old man smiled and beckoned me to him. It was a cutey-toothey smile. I went out to him, knelt down, looked into his face and smiled. Those eyes were the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen. Sea blue with a tinkle in them.]
Me-Yes, Mr. Gardener Sir(Mr. G), you called me?
Mr. g-Hmm…. My child. Do you see this plant? You know why I am tending to it?
Me-No, I guess maybe because it is new and unstable.
Mr. g-Yes and No both. But before I explain to you why am I doing this may I ask you, how come I have a charming company beside me?
Me-(Smiling from ear to ear with a tinge of blush…) Oh … well, actually…(stammering) you see me and my friend had kept a bet that whosever finds out the “Truth about life” would treat the other for the next four years in college. I tried to ask my seniors and my teachers in college but all had their own perceptions, no concrete stuff. So I packed my bag and planned an entire day trip to HEAVEN. I knew that only there would I be able to find my answers.
Mr. g-Are you sure at this age of yours you would be able to understand it all?
Me-Albert Einstein, was about my age when he had already started working and discovering scientific theories and inventions. Lata Mangeshkar had sung at a number of live performances. Sachin was a star. Age is not what counts, the brain does. We all apply less than 5% of our brains and still we are able to grasp much. All we need to do is to open the doors of our minds and give wings to our thoughts.
Mr. g-(Nodding) I see, so you have completely made up your mind and come. Do you mind having a cup of tea with me before resuming your search for the truth.
Me-uh…ok(I did not want to hurt the old man who had been so kind to me)
Mr. g-Great. I am pleased. Do you see these trees and flowers around you? Did you notice any difference in their colour as compared to earth’s flora?
Me-(Suddenly realizing) Oh yes, they have a shiny luster, a feeling of freshness in them. But why?
Mr. g- Yes, because they are happy here. Plants also have feelings you see. They also breathe, eat, live and love. Now for example take the plant I have been tending to it has drooped down. You know why? Because it is sad. You see, the only thing that held it from dying were the warm, loving, encouraging words spoken to it by the other plants in the neighbourhood. This plant’s name is SAM. He was always Selfish. Whenever he would bore flowers or small fruits, he would never let any butterflies sit on him, neither would he give his share of water to his neighbours. When the other plants invited him to dance in the rain he would retort back rudely. And few days back he was taken ill.
[He pauses for a moment to sip his tea]
Despite his ill behavior, everybody tended to him and spoke soft words of comfort. When you came he was just telling me how sorry he was for what he had done and he has vowed to undo all the bad deeds he has done… the best he can. Humans are also the same. Life is to small to be spent in spite, hatred and dislike. The fruit of love is always sweet. There are no laid down rules to live a “Good life”. Actions are everything. Sam’s neighbours never received a kind word from him and neither did they expect, but they did what was right. Kindness and Love only increase by giving. Give love and you shall be loved. Now close your eyes and think about it.
[I was awed by the brilliance of the old man, how by a simple example he taught me the law of life and then I realized Oh my God, it had been God all along. As soon as I opened my eyes I was back in my room. I shut my eyes again and hummed his last words…]
